Memorization vs Cramming

According of an interview that I made to my roommate’s girlfriend, who has taken a psychology course last semester, and some researches that I did in internet. Nowadays more students prefer to memorize large amounts of information in a short time, which is well-known as cramming. Most of them said that it can help you in the moment with a test. However many professors are worried about this, because they say that it results in short term retention of what students have studied. In fact, Harold Edward Gorst in his book The curse of education said: “as long as education is synonymous with cramming on an organized plan, it will continue to produce mediocrity”.

On the other hand, memorization which is the way to use one or more mental process techniques in the way to learn something. According to The dictionary Merriam-Webster, memorization is to learn something so well that you are able to remember it perfectly. To memorize something you can apply one or more memorization techniques. The most common techniques are: Rote learning, a mnemonic, a mnemonic link system, a peg system, the major system, the method of loci, the art of memory. When you apply all of this techniques, those help you not just in the way you prepare for an exam, also in the way you understand and learn. However, memorization takes you more time studying than cramming.

So what will we do now that we know this??

Does our dreams has any meaning?

Are they interpretable?

According to the psychologist Carl Jung, one of the founding fathers of dream interpretations, “Dreams were a window into the unconscious mind,” He believed that “While the dreamer is sleeping, their unconscious mind is working on finding solutions to problems they face in their conscious mind.”

To some people dreams are a normal function of the body that doesn’t have any meaning or purpose. But many believe that dreams have a deeper meaning. But first we need to figure out if the dream has any significance because sometimes they are affected by our physical surroundings or noises or external circumstances. For example, if someone hear ringing bells in their dream, it may be because of their phone or alarm is ringing.

**There are many different categories of dreams. Some dreams are common dreams (These dreams are experienced by people of all background, culture and religion), Nightmares and anxiety dreams, relationship dreams and so on.
To understand our dreams, we need to put it within the context of our own life. Every person has their own interpretations!

Criticism makes successful working or not?

Criticism makes successful working or not?

 

 

I entirely agree that a person cannot work successfully in a group if  he or she cannot accept criticism. I have two reasons for that.

 

To begin with, to listen your weakness point from someone can help improvement of his or her ability. Suppose that you have a big weak point of your working skills. If nobody tell you about your weakness, you don't know about your weak point. Therefore, you cannot fix it. So there will not be an improvement of your working skiils.

 

Another reason why I agree with this is it can help your personal relationship. For example, If your colleague talks roughly but he is nice in other ways. And another colleague likes his personality but hates his way of speak roughly. In this situation, If nobody tells his flaw to him, he doesn't fix his flaw. Finally his personal relationships will break.

 

In conclusion, I think criticism needs to a person who wants to be a success in a group.

My favorite sport

 My favorite sport is soccer because soccer is fun , dynamic, and teamwork. First of all soccer is very fun .when i was young i was very short. nobody doesn't want a join with me. I'm not fast and energy.my position always defender.although i'm defender i do best myself. soccer is paly fun also wachting too.In addition to play soccer is fun. another reason why soccer is my favorite is because soccer is dynamic.In europe leage has a star player and leage is wonderful. players skill is good and make a great goal.and very fast and energy.audience will be crazy. Fanal reason is soccer had a teamwork.I'm a leader of social soccer team in korea. team name is PRS. PRS means PASS RUN &SHOOT. I made it our team name. I like a teamwork play. which make a spilit and freindship.i want a go back to korea and paly soccer with my team members as soon as possible.

Today I see a little story that happened in a company. A forty-year-old woman carried with her son to apply for an appropriate job. They need to stay a lounge to wait for a leader. Meanwhile, this woman was eating something. Soon the woman threw a piece of waste paper on the ground. At that time, an old person that was cutting leaves stood very close to her. Of course, she also saw this behavior but she did not speak. Then she walked to this waste paper and picked it up into the garbage. In a moment, the woman threw the other waste again; the old still picked it up into the garbage and did not speak. The woman pointed to the old and said to her son, “Look at her! If you do not work hard, you will have a hard life.” At that moment, a polite man went straight to their and said to the old, “President, our meeting will start after a minute.” When the woman knew the old is the president of this company, she felt very bad. Obviously, they lost an opportunity to get an appropriate job in this company.

When I saw this story, I think this is a very meaningful and instructive story. This story told us we need to be a polite person and respectful about everyone, even the poor or the people at the bottom. With the development of the economy, our life has become more and more comfortable. We are no longer living in a tough place. Although it is a good phenomenon, a word “ethics” may be ignored by the majority of people. In very simple terms, our students could respect everyone and everything, such as our desks, chairs, trees and so forth. Also, we could do a warm-heart person to help everyone when they need to help. For other people, if they might take a little part of their money to fund some of them they really need money to treat or study. 

Comping 

Each month,i spend my vacations in comping  outdoor with my friend.it was beautiful nights.Because along time i did n"t see them.And for from the bustle of the city.It is true that the weather was very cold but in night you can enjoy the light of the moon and watch the stars and hearing about the fire.

Also, in the morning you can a wake up about the fire.So in the morning you can a awake up early and enjoy preparing preparing breakfast.When you go outside you must enjoy every moment.

Door Decorations or doortags or Door Decs

Door decorations, doortags, door decs,… There are a lot of names, but the true it’s made by the Resident Assistance (RA). So today I’m going to talk about a Door Decs for this I’m going to use the interview that I made to my RA, Which is named Shawn. He said that the purpose of make creative door decs is put the name of the residents on it, is a good way to make residents feel comfortable and familiar with other residents of the same floor. They usually use papers, crayon, glue, scissors, and creativity to make it. He also said that he do it once or twice per semester. Or when they are coming at special event. Or when they are coming at special event. For example, many people made door decs about Star wars movie.

Korean food

I love and like Korean food. Korean BBQ, fried chicked and Pork and Rice Soup. I usually eat with my friends. Almost every my friends like that and Soju. Soju is kind of Korea whiskey. Korean people really like fried chicken. Maybe all Korean people eat chicken once a week. I usually eat with my older sister. These really miss Korean food. But one month later i will eat a lot of Korean food!! so very excited. If you guys travel Korea then you should eat  Korean BBQ and fried chicken. Thx :)

Noodle

In china, there is word that "people see the food as sky". From this word, we can see the importance of food. wherever you are, you must eat food everyday and there are many different kinds of food all over the world. There are many delicious food in china. But, i like noodles best. There are lots of way to cook noodles. I live in a beautiful city called SuZhou and Suzhou is not only famous for the beautiful view but also the delicious noodles. In SuZhou, many people will have noodles in the morning and this is a habit. People always eat the noodle with delicious soup, then, they will put some  food over the noodles, such as, shrimp,shredded meat... I like eating noodles.

In our childhood, we have already known elephants and very familiar with them. When we went to a zoo and saw such a big elephant, children will feel very excited and cheerful for them. However, there is a survey about the elephant. 70% of people do not know a behavior that stealing the ivory is the biggest threat to elephants.

Before hundreds of years, there are more than four hundred kinds of elephants in the Earth. According to recent research, there are only three kinds that are Asian elephants, African savannah elephants and Asian elephants in Africa. Also, they are threatened. 

I think we need to protect and also call on the whole people to care. If not, we will only see the elephants from a museum or a picture. We should spend our time on the museum instead of cinema, it is a good way to open our horizon and do a good citizen in our society. Not only the elephants we need to protect, but also all the animals or plants. Everything has living, we need to respect them. 

GROUNDHOG DAY!!

Today it’s a groundhog day. It is a traditional holiday celebrated on February 2^nd each year. It began in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania in 1886. Germans have long used hedgehogs to predict weather, groundhogs were the closest U.S. mammal German immigrants could find. According to the legend, Punxsutawney Phil, the legendary groundhog comes out from his den, after his long winter’s sleep and decides the weather. It is believed that if Phil sees his shadow, it will return to his den and winter weather will extend for six more weeks. If it’s cloudy and he does not see his shadow, Phil takes it as a sign of spring and stays above the ground. 

Most people celebrate this day with throwing parties, attending festivals, take part in activities, food and more.

What of makes life comfortable? What is the best invention of our life? I think that is a car.

Henry Ford was the creator of Ford motor company. Henry Ford invent started young. by the age 12. He was spending time in a small machine shop. He was working the night shift at the Edison. Ford motor company since 1903. Model T by Ford in 1903. That was the first model of Ford motor company. The car is most important in our life. Ford cars ware cheep and good performance and safe Anybody should drive Ford car. Ford was made a lot of different of car.
SUV, Truck and sports car. Ford also created the classic car, The Mustang. Mustang is an Icon of strength and beauty. Because it is a high performance engine and has a nice design. Mustang means freedom. I want a drive ford  mustang. Ford motor company has making car for 100 years. 100 years company is not easy. When I drive or walk around I could see many Ford cars. Henry Ford changed people’s life. He’s great inventor. The Ford company invention of new car in the future it will continue.

Lego's first disabled character will come out.

 

At the Korean website, I read an article that lego made a first disabled character. So I found this article in American news website. This article said Lego made new character for their new Lego CITY set. And the new character has disability. This character is sitting in a wheelchair and wear a  hat. It looks so sweet. At first, it was just a social media campaign that asked the toy company to make various characters. Lego makes this campaign to be real. They reflect many people's thinking so they made first disabled character. I think it is a really good challenge. This news is spread out all over the world include Korea for positive way. It can change people's perception of disabled people. And also it can be a good advertisement of Lego. When I was in my Korean University, I learned about Corporate Social Responsibility. It is a sort of connection between corporate and peoople who use that company's product. More specifically, it is an activity that corporates do to satisfied consumers' expectation and reqirement about corporates' social duty. I think make new disabled figure is a kind of CSR. Anyway, it's good for either.

 

 

 

The Major Of University

As the development of society, many universities have various kinds of major. So, as the future freshman, choosing a right major is very important for us. How to choose a right major depend on our     interests and advantages. I would like to choose the Business major. There are several reasons for me to choose this reason. First, I think this major is very popular, so many people choose this major due to it is benefit for our future job. The second reason why i choose this major because i want to become a businessman after i graduated from the university, so i must choose a major related my dream. The last reason why i choose this major because i think it is not so difficult for me, so i need not study very hard for my major. 

LEFT BRAIN VS. RIGHT BRAIN

The human brain consists of two halves, the right brain and the left brain, termed as “hemispheres”. The brain’s right hemisphere controls the muscles on the left side of the body, while the left hemisphere controls the muscles on the right side of the human body. The concept of right brain and left brain thinking developed from the research of a Nobel price winner psychobiologist, Roger W. Sperry. He discovered that 'the human brain has two very different ways of thinking'. The shapes of these two parts are similar but differences are in their functions. The left brain controls language, calculation and logical thinking. The right brain controls creativity, imagination and artistic senses. The left and right hemispheres of our brain process information in different ways (they communicate with one another via corpus collosum) but these two sides of our brain work together in our everyday life.
