This article said Barbie brand makes the new dolls have seven skin tones, 22 eye colors, 24 hairstyles and new clothes and accessories. It includes Black, Asian, and also The new curvy Barbie has a bigger bust, behind, thicker thighs. The classic Barbie dolls has blue eyes, long leg and too skiny body to exist in the real world. Because of these things of the classic barbie, many young girls thought the perfect body of the classic barbie is normal thing. So they want to be a girl who has body like the classic barbie. Although it is unrealistic body, many girls tries to loose their weight put on make up like a barbie dolls. And there is another issue about racism. The classic barbie doll was launched in 1959. It looked like  a typical white girls. Blonde hair, blue eyes and skin tones show barbies are Whites. So there was a lot of claims that why there is only White barbies. Many Asians and African-Amercians claimed about it. After that, African-American Barbies and other ethnic versions were introduced starting in the late 1960s. Because of young girls who want to be like a barbie and many othr ethnic groups except Whites, many parents, human right activist of other races and feminists have long criticized Barbie's original shape as setting an unrealistic body image for girls. They think the classic barbies appearance makes lookism and racism. And also I had discontent about barbies' unrealistic appearances. So I'm really glad to listen that various ethnic version and curvy barbies will comming out to the world. I hope it will change people's negative thinking about lookism and racism.
